The last week and a half has been a busy travel week even for someone who flies at least twice a week.  I’ve taken 11 flights on four different airlines – across the country and along the east coast.  I’ve flown Delta, United/Continental , Spirit and USAirways.  I spent a lot of time this week observing what works and doesn’t work when it comes to airline boarding for on-time departures.  With load factors exceeding 85% on many flights, and some flights totally full, boarding the aircraft is a challenge for any airline.
