Congratulations!

Because of the hard work by Flight Attendants working together throughout the country TSA Administrator John Pistole announced today that knives would not be allowed on planes.

We all stood together on this important issue and we were able to make our voice heard. Delta Flight Attendants and members of the Flight Attendant Union Coalition proved that when we take collective action we have power. The TSA release today specifically noted the “firestorm of opposition from flight attendants,” the original announcement caused as a factor in this decision.

Thank you for all of your hard work on this important issue.

Starting next week, the Flight Attendant Union Coalition will be running a compelling ad in New York's Times Square calling on the public to join in our fight for a permanent ban on knives in the aircraft cabin.

The opening image shows the fist of Federal Law Enforcement Officer Association National President Jon Adler using a tactical hold on a pocket knife that could be used to kill inside the aircraft cabin. The sequence turns to an image of the Twin Towers from August 2001 followed by a plea, "Tell Congress: No Knives on Planes Ever Again" with the Capitol Switchboard number.

Our time is running out to stop TSA Administrator John Pistole’s plan to allow knives on planes.

We delivered our petitions to Delta CEO Richard Anderson telling him how important this issue is, now we need to make sure Washington hears us.

Flight Attendants from across the country and different unions will all be calling Congress tomorrow, May 16th to make sure they know how unacceptable it is to put our safety and the safety of our passengers needlessly at risk. This issue impacts our entire profession, and we all need to stand up together if we want to make our voice heard.
